While there are a number of safe ways to thaw frozen fish, by far, the best approach to preserve its flavor and consistency is to thaw it for 18-24 hours in the refrigerator.
Remove the Atlantic Cod from its packaging and put it onto a plate or shallow pan to catch any liquid at least 8-10 hours before you plan to cook it, and preferably overnight.

Superb Taste and TextureWe have ordered the cod portions from City Pier on multiple occasions, and have used the fish in a variety of dishes. The taste and texture of this cod is absolutely superb, and while the quality and freshness make this a treat for any true seafood lover, it is also a wonderful choice to serve to finicky eaters who may not have experienced just how mild, meaty and delicious a premium cut of whitefish can be.
