Foodies We Love - Introducing Natasha Gentile

Cooking, in our humble opinion, is the highest form of art.

Nothing against Monet, but can you please pass the poached salmon and salad greens? We’ll take a gorgeously plated dish that makes us feel like a million bucks any day of the week.

In all seriousness, we’re passionate believers in the happy marriage of cooking and creativity, which is why Natasha Gentile is most definitely a Foodie We Love. A recipe creator, educator, blogger, and food stylist, Natasha is the founder and owner of a thriving cheese and charcuterie board business, North Carolina-based Femme Fromage & Co.

Natasha does it all and, lucky for us, seafood is one of her specialities. Our taste buds are eternally grateful for recipes like the City Pier-exclusive Swordfish with Tomato & Corn Salad. This is what happens when delicious meets simple and healthy meets celebratory.

A mother of two little ones, Natasha is a Kitch’n Kidz contributor who knows as well as anyone the kind of magic that can happen when you introduce little ones to cooking. Check out her Instagram, and see her very own Kitch’n Kids bring one of her recipes to life here!

For Natasha, creativity abounds in all aspects of life, including critical business decisions. Back in the good old days of 2020, Femme Fromage and Co. was simply Femme Fromage, a thriving cheese board-making and wine tasting school with classes booked booked more than six months out. Then, a global pandemic hit, and in-person instruction was suddenly impossible.

Natasha and her business partner quickly pivoted to a new line of business, customizing cheese and charcuterie boards, delivering them across North Carolina’s Triangle region of Raleigh, Durham, and Cary. The pair had no long-term plans for Femme and Fromage — using up ingredient stocks meant for cancelled classes was their chief concern — but North Carolinians had other ideas. The orders kept coming, and coming, and coming.

Now the company’s sole proprietor, Natasha renamed it Femme Fromage & Co and has since expanded the menu to include candy boards, dessert boards, party favors for holidays, and more.

And guess what else? Femme Fromage and Co is holding in-person classes again, such as their recent Charcuterie & Cheese Board Making and Halloween Candy Boards classes. This makes our hearts leap with joy since we know firsthand the impact Natasha has on her students, because we count ourselves among them.
