- Excellent Source of Protein
- Good Source of Vitamin D
- High Vitamin B-12
Flounder is a thinner, flaky white fish that is mild and slightly sweet. Because it’s so thin, it cooks quickly, in as little as 2-3 minutes per side. A perfect and delicious option for a weeknight meal ready in as little as 15 minutes.
Whether your purchase contains fresh or frozen flounder, it’s important to open and inspect your shipment as soon as you can after it arrives on your doorstep.
Because it is flash-frozen at sea at the peak of its freshness, frozen flounder is a perfect, protein-packed, low-fat go-to you can treat yourself and your family to year-round.
While there are a number of safe ways to thaw frozen fish, by far the best approach to preserve its flavor and consistency is to thaw it for 18-24 hours in the refrigerator. Simply remove the flounder from its packaging and put it onto a plate or shallow pan to catch any liquid. Refrigerate at least 8-10 hours (preferably overnight) before you plan to cook it.
